The NMC Assessors Affiliate had an incredible time at the 89th Annual New Mexico Counties Conference in Gallup, NM!
This conference provided a valuable opportunity to connect, collaborate, and share ideas with assessors, legislators and elected officials from across the state. The networking, educational sessions, and discussions surrounding assessment administration and property tax issues continue to strengthen our profession and the service we provide to New Mexicans.
We also enjoyed the opportunity to collaborate with our partners in the Clerks Affiliate and the GIS Affiliate. Working together across county functions helps build stronger relationships and better outcomes for our counties and communities.
As we wrapped up the conference, we want to extend our sincere appreciation to Damian Lara for his years of leadership and service to the Assessors Affiliate. Most recently serving as Vice Chair, Damian has been an invaluable resource through his expertise in property taxation, legislative matters, and county government. His dedication and commitment have helped guide our affiliate through many important initiatives, and while we will miss him on the board, we are grateful for the impact he has made.
We are also excited to welcome Hollie Sandoval as the new Vice Chair of the NMC Assessors Affiliate. She joins Ivan Barry, Joaquin Valdez, and Tyler Smith on the board, and we look forward to her leadership and contributions as we continue moving the affiliate forward.
Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, shared ideas, and brought such great energy to this year's conference. We appreciate the relationships, conversations, and collaboration that make these gatherings so meaningful.
