What a Friday night on MainStreet! A HUGE thank-you to everyone who participated in and attended Heroes on MainStreet. Whether you brought a vehicle, shared what you do, volunteered, or came out with your family to enjoy the evening, you helped make this event special!

To our first responders, military members, and public safety teams: thank you for spending your evening with us, letting families explore your equipment, answering questions, and giving our community a chance to meet the people behind the uniforms. We appreciate the work you do every day and loved celebrating you downtown!

An extra-special thank-you to Brenda and Martha, our event organizers, for all the time, planning, and heart they put into bringing Heroes on MainStreet together. So much happens behind the scenes, and we’re grateful for everything you did to make it happen!

Thank you to our downtown businesses, volunteers, and MainStreet board members for helping bring the evening to life. And to everyone who showed up—thank you for supporting our local heroes and our downtown!

🚨 TODAY IS HEROES ON MAINSTREET! 🚒🚓

Come Downtown TODAY from 4 PM–8 PM and get ready for some TOUCH-A-TRUCK fun on MainStreet!

Bring the kids, meet some of our local heroes and get an up-close look at some seriously cool vehicles and equipment!

🚓 Police & emergency vehicles
🛡️ The Otero County Sheriff’s Office BearCat
🚲 Backcountry rescue bikes
🤖 Air Force EOD equipment, robots AND a ROBOT DOG!
🚒 The 9/11 Memorial Pumper
🚂 First Responder Tribute Train

Come explore the trucks, check out the equipment, meet the people behind the uniforms and see some of the things our first responders and military members use to do their jobs!

Some vehicles will be available for kids to explore up close, while others will be there for display.

❤️🤍💙 At 5:30 PM, we’ll also have a special prayer and the National Anthem as we recognize the men and women who serve our community.

Congratulations, Nadia!

We are so excited to celebrate our very own Nadia Sikes, who was named the 2026 Nonprofit Professional of the Year by the Sacramento Mountains Foundation!

Over the past few years, Nadia has been such an important part of Alamogordo MainStreet, serving on our Board of Directors and always being willing to step up, share her experience, support our organization, and help make our community better.

Anyone who knows Nadia knows how much she cares about Alamogordo and the people in it. We are incredibly proud to see her hard work and dedication recognized with such a well deserved honor.

We’re looking for vendors to join us for the Downtown Garage Sale!

📅 Saturday, September 5th 8am - 4pm
📍 Downtown Alamogordo 900 & 800 Block on New York Ave.

You don’t have to be a traditional vendor to participate! If you have garage sale items but don’t have a garage, yard, or space to hold your own sale, this is your chance!

We also welcome craft vendors, makers, small businesses, and food vendors.

💲 Vendor spaces are $50.
