No family expects to become part of this community.
There is a before, and there is an after.

For Green Star Families, that “after” begins with the loss of a Veteran to su***de.
But along with the grief can come something families should never have to carry: the feeling that the way their Veteran died somehow changed the value of the life they lived, the uniform they wore or the service they gave.
It didn’t.

Their Veteran served.
Their Veteran mattered.
And the family left behind matters, too.
That is why recognition is so important.

Recognition cannot bring their Veteran back. It cannot take away the grief or answer every question. But it can say something powerful:

We see your Veteran.
We remember their service.
We see your family.
And you have not been forgotten.
That is what Green Star Families of America is fighting for.

Recognition matters. No family should feel invisible.
