Project Search Shelby County, Al Project SEARCH is based out of Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL. They come to Shelby Baptist Medical Center for their last school year.

Project SEARCH is a program designed to help high school students who are in their last eligible year ages 18-21, obtain job skills that will help them find competitive employment within the community. This program is for high school students ages 18-21 who have a disability and are in their last eligible year of school. Project SEARCH provides three 10week rotations within the hospital. We follow

the Shelby County Board of Education/Alabaster City school calendar. The program runs from August to May, and consists of a Teacher from the Shelby County/Alabaster City School System( Lacy Wilson), two Job Coaches (Kim Bryant & Kim Kielbasa), and Job Coach (Cindy Vinson). Interns learn job skills during their internship rotations that will help them obtain competitive employment within the community. Project SEARCH graduated 11 interns from the program in May of 2013, and will host a new group of interns in August of 2013.
