The Goodyear Blimp wasn’t always the giant icon we know today. These are basically its baby photos. 👶🎈

As Akron prepares to celebrate its first-ever Blimp Day on June 6, we’re looking back at the imagination and engineering that helped this famous aircraft get off the ground.

There’s a Stan Hywet connection! Willard Seiberling, son of F.A. and Gertrude Seiberling, led Goodyear’s Aeronautics Division during a pivotal period of lighter-than-air flight development, helping guide the innovation that made the Blimp possible.

A century later, the Goodyear Blimp remains a symbol of Akron ingenuity—and proof that big ideas can take flight.

Happy Pride Month from Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. 🌈

Above the entrance to the Manor House are the words Non Nobis Solum—Latin for "Not For Us Alone."

Gertrude Penfield Seiberling chose these words as a reminder that this grand estate was never intended to exist solely for one family, but to serve and enrich the broader community. More than a century later, that spirit continues to guide us.

Stan Hywet is a place where people from all walks of life come together to explore history, enjoy the beauty of nature, learn something new, create memories, and find moments of peace. We recognize that our visitors bring many different backgrounds, experiences, beliefs, and perspectives, and we are grateful that each person helps make our community stronger.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the many individuals who make up our community and reaffirm what Non Nobis Solum has always meant: there is a place for everyone here.

We love seeing our Ohio Mart artists shine! ✨

Congratulations to Glenn Miller of Whiskerton Crafted Light on being featured by the Akron Beacon Journal for his incredible work creating custom light fixtures for the Buckets restaurant inside House Three Thirty. His craftsmanship, creativity, and attention to detail are evident in every piece he creates—and we couldn't be happier to see his talent recognized.

If you've admired Glenn's work at House Three Thirty, you'll have the chance to meet him and explore more of his handcrafted creations at Ohio Mart this fall at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. We're proud to have him as one of our longtime Ohio Mart artists and can't wait to welcome him back this year.

We were SO excited to welcome students from Old Trail School to Stan Hywet last week!

The creative projects they developed inspired by Stan Hywet were fascinating, imaginative, and incredibly thoughtful.

We loved seeing not only their amazing ideas, but also the professionalism and enthusiasm they brought to their presentations.
