So, we’re kicking off a special Ohio Mart Artist Feature Series to spotlight a few of the talented makers you’ll meet this year.

✨ First up: New exhibitor Doug Meyer of Rustbelt Rebirth!

Doug transforms reclaimed sheet metal and salvaged steel into one-of-a-kind furniture and artwork, embracing every rust spot, scratch, and original color to tell the story of the material’s past.

💚 Celebrating the people who make Stan Hywet possible!

One of our favorite traditions is taking time each year to celebrate the incredible staff and volunteers who give so much of themselves to Stan Hywet. Our Annual Awards Ceremony is a special opportunity to say thank you for the time, talent, dedication and heart they share with our estate. 🌿

This year, we celebrated 5- and 10-year staff anniversaries and recognized volunteers who have given anywhere from 100 to an incredible 7,500 hours of their time.

And a very special congratulations to Dianne Kauffman and LaVerne Yousey, who each reached an extraordinary 10,000 volunteer hours—earning their names on our special Volunteer Recognition Sign! 👏❤️

We truly could not care for, preserve and share Stan Hywet without each and every one of you. Your dedication makes such a difference, and we are incredibly grateful.

Thank you for all that you do, and congratulations to all of this year’s honorees! 🥂🌿

🌸 A morning of flowers, friendship & a little behind-the-scenes magic! 🌸

We had the loveliest morning with Ann Towell, a longtime member of the Akron Garden Club, and Matt Hribar of the Akron Art Museum, selecting flowers for Ann’s floral design promoting the upcoming Art Blooms 2026: Color Abounds!

The Akron Garden Club has a special connection to Stan Hywet, too. Founded by Gertrude Seiberling, the Club has been an independent nonprofit for generations—and its members continue to serve as the devoted caretakers of our beautiful English Garden today. 💚

Now, we’re thrilled to see Ann and her fellow Garden Club members bring their talents to the Akron Art Museum for this one-day-only celebration of art and nature.

🌷 Art Blooms 2026: Color Abounds

Sixteen imaginative floral designs will be paired with works of art, alongside horticulture displays, orchids, cacti, botanical arts, photography and so much more.

We had some very special visitors on the grounds recently! 🐶💙

Canine Companions brought their future service dogs to Stan Hywet for a training day, and it was so wonderful to watch these pups explore, learn and interact with our beautiful grounds.

We love seeing dogs enjoy Stan Hywet—and we love it even more knowing that these adorable puppies are growing up to help people live with greater independence. ❤️

A huge thank-you to Canine Companions for spending the day with us and for thinking of Stan Hywet as a place for your pups to learn and train. We loved having you here!
