๐จ FACT #3: Flock Safety says its cameras don't track or identify people โ just license plates. So why is it testing software that does exactly that?
It's called "OS Investigate," and according to reporting from Wired, police can use it to identify drivers and track vehicles by movement patterns alone. It can:
๐ Pick out "potential witnesses" by how often their cars pass through a neighborhood
๐ Surface a driver's associates based on whose cameras they pass together
๐ Turn plates into names, home addresses, and relatives by pulling from case files, 911 dispatch logs, and commercial identity records
๐ Search for people in a map-drawn area using nothing but a physical description
This is the direction Flock is heading. Does this sound like something we want in Akron?
๐ข Contact Akron City Council and tell them to cancel our Flock contract โ before these capabilities get even more worrying.
