Thank you to Magistrate Joseph Mittica for volunteering to be a part of a panel discussion held yesterday at the Akron Bar Association for new Summit Legal Defenders Interns.

Magistrate Mittica, along with Stow Municipal Court Judge Amber Zibritosky, Ohio Ninth District Court of Appeals Judge Betty Sutton and Summit County Court of Common Pleas Judge Tammy O'Brien, helped answer questions that the Interns had as they begin their summer internship.

On Wednesday, Court Mediator Hope McGonigle spoke to a group at St. Hilary Catholic Parish-Fairlawn on eviction and how mediation can be a part of the solution.

Congratulations to the Archbishop Hoban High School Mock Trial Team on its 2026 State Championship title!

Our state's mock trial program is made possible by more than 1,000 legal professionals who serve as judges, competition coordinators and team advisors.

The group represented Ohio at the National High School Mock Trial Competition earlier this month in Des Moines, Iowa. The event was hosted by the Iowa State Bar Association.

Yesterday, Akron Municipal Court Judge Ron Cable and Probation Officer Chris Quinlan visited Revere High School (part of Revere Local Schools) to speak to Mr. Fry's Street Law class.

The students were interested in learning about the Court's specialized dockets and asked many insightful questions!

Earlier today, Judge Annalisa S. Williams hosted a 25th Anniversary Celebration during Mental Health Awareness Month for Akron Municipal Mental Health Court.
