Is that a shadow we see? Unfortunately, it is!

Carrying on a favorite tradition from the Greenwood ELC days, Miss Groundhog Greenwood Givens made her way to the front of Green Primary yesterday to give us her official weather forecast.

Unfortunately, this groundhog saw her shadow, which means she’s predicting six more weeks of winter!

Green Local Schools will be closed today, Monday, February 2, 2026, due to unforeseen mechanical issues within our transportation fleet. Combined with forecasted temperatures, these mechanical failures would result in significant delays and force our students to wait outdoors for an unsafe period of time. We apologize for the inconvenience, but the safety and well-being of our students are our highest priorities. Please check the website for further information.

🎉 Congratulations to Our GHS AFJROTC Cadets! 🇺🇸✈️

We are proud to celebrate Cadet Riley Kirkbride and Cadet Koehler Spidell, who were recently awarded Congressional Nominations at a special dinner with Congresswoman Emilia Sykes — an incredible achievement and a major step toward admission to a U.S. Military Service Academy.

Both cadets are pursuing appointments to the United States Air Force Academy, and their dedication, leadership, and commitment truly exemplify Bulldog pride.

Congresswoman Sykes nominated only 21 students, making this honor especially meaningful. The competitive process included a comprehensive application, resume, academic transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, and two letters of recommendation.

We are incredibly proud of these outstanding students and their commitment to service and excellence.

Dressed to impress and dressed for success, the Green High School Mock Trial team is ready for the courtroom today!

The Ohio Center for Law-Related Education is proud to present the 2026 Ohio Mock Trial Case, State of Buckeye v. Morgan Remy. The 2026 case will explore questions about privacy, consent, technology, and justice. Students will argue both sides of a motion hearing that combines forensic science, emerging technology, and Fourth Amendment questions at the Summit County Courthouse in front of a judge.

Good luck, team!

"Oh, the thinks you can think" when Dr. Seuss' best-loved characters collide and cavort in an unforgettable musical caper!

Green Elementary School proudly presents Suessical, KIDS! the musical!

February 6th at 7:00pm & February 7th at 2:00pm

Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical KIDS, a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once on This Island, Ragtime).

Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, our narrator, tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child, who gets in trouble for thinking too many "thinks." Horton's challenge is twofold — not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping, and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the power of friendship, loyalty, family, and community is challenged and emerges triumphant!

Good morning, Bulldog Nation! 🐾🧡🖤

There’s no better way to warm up after a cold, snowy start to our week than seeing our students light up with curiosity and creativity! Early this morning, our GES 4th graders were hard at work in Robotics, exploring problem-solving, teamwork, and innovation — and the excitement was contagious.

We’re especially proud to share that interest in our Robotics and STEM program at these lower grades has doubled in just one year, a true testament to the power of hands-on learning, early exposure to technology, and our tech and STEM staff. Starting STEM education at a young age helps students build confidence, critical-thinking skills, and a lifelong love of learning.

Today’s session was led by Mr. Zach Garber and Mr. Dakota Sciury, members of our district's technology team, who did an incredible job engaging students and sparking curiosity through real-world applications and fun challenges.

Moments like these remind us why investing in STEM matters.
