📣 CALL FOR PHOTOS: Honoring Black Akron Resilience
The Akron Black Artist Guild is seeking powerful, positive images that reflect the strength, vibrancy, and resilience of Black Akronites in response to the history of redlining.
We’re looking for photos of:
✨ Black-owned businesses and their owners
✨ Social groups and community organizations
✨ Church activities and faith gatherings
✨ Neighborhood parades and celebrations
✨ Everyday moments of connection and joy in our communities
These images will be featured in an upcoming mural installation at the Akron Urban League a bold, interactive display that confronts the legacy of redlining while uplifting the triumphs and enduring spirit of Akron’s African American community.
