There may be slight delays in collecting the trash and recycling today as the crews fight through this weather. If your trash or recycling is missed or if you're unable to get your cart out, please enter a service request to 3-1-1.

We will do our best to get to any missed pick-up Monday or Tuesday. Remember the heavy winds may shift your empty carts around and they may not be where you left them!

3-1-1 is available to submit requests 💻 online at https://311.akronohio.gov/csrsite/csr/eula
or call them by 📞 phone at 330-375-2311.

12/23 7:30am Good morning, Akron!

❄️The storm arrived in our area around 3am as the rain changed over to snow. We have all available trucks out in response to this event.
❄️All streets are snow covered and while the pre-treatment was effective at providing decent traction, there are still some pockets of slick conditions and the drifting snow is impacting visibility.
❄️Snow is going to slow down through the morning but there is a lot of drifting snow due to the high winds so if you don't have to leave the house, it's best to stay in. If you do have to travel, please go slow, give yourself plenty of time, and drive cautiously.

We'd also like to give a special shoutout to the men and women who have been working through the night to keep our roads safe and drivable. 👏👏
