Student Leadership in Akron! 🌟
Please join us in congratulating Audrey Garverick, who was recently recognized by the Erie County Legislature for her outstanding leadership, service, and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
Audrey was honored for her creation of Read to Lead, an innovative student-led initiative that promotes literacy, leadership, empathy, inclusion, and a sense of belonging among our youngest learners. Through recorded read-alouds, classroom visits, and meaningful conversations with elementary students, Audrey has demonstrated the power of student leadership and the impact one person can have on a school community.
In addition to serving as one of Akron’s first Student Ex Officio Board Members, Audrey is actively involved in numerous academic, athletic, and extracurricular pursuits while continually advocating for opportunities that help others learn, grow, and succeed.
What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that it celebrates not only Audrey’s accomplishments, but also her character. She leads with compassion, purpose, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
At Akron, we often talk about the importance of student voice, leadership, and service. Audrey embodies all three. Her willingness to turn an idea into action, inspire younger students, and advocate for educational opportunities beyond our district serves as an example for all of us.
Congratulations, Audrey! Your Akron family is incredibly proud of you, and we look forward to seeing the continued impact of your leadership in the years ahead.
