Help James Carr in His Fight Against Glioblastoma
For nearly four decades, James Carr has been the one answering the call whenever someone in his community needed help. Whether it was responding to emergencies, leading his fellow firefighters, or quietly serving those around him, James has dedicated his life to protecting others.
Now, it’s our turn to answer his call.
In November 2025, James was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive, cancerous, and inoperable brain tumor. Since his diagnosis, he has undergone radiation and chemotherapy, and he continues to face additional chemotherapy treatments in the months ahead. While James has shown incredible courage and determination throughout this journey, the emotional, physical, and financial challenges of fighting cancer can be overwhelming.
James is much more than a firefighter—he is a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He and his loving wife, Michelle, have shared 36 wonderful years of marriage together. They are blessed with four amazing children and nine precious grandchildren who adore their “Papi.”
For 39 years, James faithfully served the McGregor Fire Department, including the last 25 years as Fire Chief. A proud second-generation firefighter, he devoted countless hours to protecting his community and mentoring the next generation of firefighters. Following his diagnosis, James made the heartbreaking decision to step down from the position he loved so he could focus on his health.
As the primary income earner for his family, James’s illness has brought unexpected financial burdens on top of an already difficult battle. Medical bills, treatments, travel expenses, and everyday living costs continue to add up, creating stress that no family should have to carry while fighting cancer.
Our family is organizing a GoFundMe and a community benefit fundraiser to help ease that burden. Every donation—no matter the size—will go toward helping cover medical expenses and giving James and Michelle the peace of mind to focus on what matters most: spending precious time together and continuing the fight against this devastating disease.
James has spent a lifetime putting others first. He has comforted families during their darkest moments, rushed toward danger when others ran away, and dedicated his life to serving his community with honor, humility, and compassion.
Now, it’s our turn to stand beside him.
If you’re able, please consider making a donation. If you cannot give financially, we would be incredibly grateful if you would share this fundraiser and keep James, Michelle, and their family in your prayers.
Together, we can remind James that the community he has faithfully served for nearly four decades is standing with him every step of the way.
Thank you for your generosity, your prayers, and your support.
“A firefighter never stands alone—and neither will James.” ❤️
