Thank you South Carolina Photobooths for providing a fun photobooth experience for our guests at the 2nd Annual Women United Awards Luncheon! We love having the opportunity for our attendees to capture photos of themselves that they can "take home with them" at end of the event. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ“ธ

Help us "Stuff the Bus" this Friday!
On June 19th, we will be at the Richland Ave. Walmart in Aiken from 10am - 2pm collecting new school supplies.

Join United Way of Aiken County in stuffing the bus with school supplies to assist Aiken County students as they go back to class in July. Most school supplies are pretty simple, a pack of crayons (the good ones!), a composition notebook or two, pencils, a ruler.... There's nothing extraordinary about any of these things on their own, but when you put them in the hands of kids in classrooms, they become the tools for successful learning.

At times, it can be a challenge for families to provide the necessary supplies for their kids. This is where the United Way of Aiken County School Tools program comes in. School Tools provides each of the Aiken County Public Schools with a stash of school supplies that can be used by teachers to help students in their classroom who don't have all the tools for success. Being properly equipped for a task can make all the difference in attitude and desire to learn!

Thank you for considering giving to School Tools this summer!

Last Thursday, 200 Women United members, friends, and grant recipients came together for the 2nd Annual Women United Awards Luncheon. We were blown away by the enthusiasm and support surrounding this event! Our sponsors are amazing and so generous!

Due to a family emergency, our original Keynote Speaker was unable to be with us, but she was exactly where she needed to be. We are so grateful for her desire to join us and share her story with our group.

At the last minute, Janice Lawson of Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, graciously agreed to be our Keynote Speaker. She was wonderful! Her genuine spirit and encouragement to all of those in attendance was just right!

To conclude the event, Women United was thrilled to have the opportunity to award $22,000 in grants to local non-profits meeting the needs of women, children, and families in our community. Congratulations to Umoja Village, Project VISION Women in Action, Habitat for Humanity Women Build, Successteam, Child Advocacy Center, Cumbee Center, Mental Health America/Nurture Home, Community Ministry of North Augusta, Helping Hands, The Matthews Foundation, and the Salvation Army on being awarded grants by Women United!

We want to extend a special thank you to all of our sponsors: SRNS, Chandler Law Firm, Savannah River Mission Completion, Wiland-Foley Wealth Advisory Group, The Smith Group, Howell Printing Company, Aiken Electric Cooperative, Cold Creek Nurseries, and South Carolina Photobooths.
