Aiken County Public Library The Aiken County Public Library is part of the ABBE Regional Library System and offers a variety of free services and programs for all ages.

The Aiken-Bamberg-Barnwell-Edgefield Regional Library System exists to provide materials which communicate experience and ideas from one person to another. Its goal is to assemble, organize, preserve and make easily and freely available to all the residents of its service area the print and non-print materials that will assist them in their pursuit of education, information, research, culture, and lifelong learning.

ART OF WORDS OPEN MIC POETRY – Thursday, June 18 from 5:45 to 7:45 pm in the Meeting Room. Open Mic Signup begins at 5:30pm. Feature act begins at 6:00pm. This popular monthly event, co-hosted by Tamell "Big" Bailey and CathyB, is a great opportunity for adults and young adults to practice performance skills in front of a small audience, receive feedback, and get inspiration for creating new works. Except for the featured artist, individual performances are limited to 3 minutes and may be on any “radio friendly” topic. If time allows, additional performances may be invited. June Theme: ALL MY TRIALS. Featured Performer: CHRISSO

Featured Poet: Christopher O'Neal Blackmon, professionally known as Chrisso, is an artist, performer, producer, and motivator from Lancaster, SC. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications and is recognized for his work in spoken word poetry, photography, and music.

Chrisso is a member of the Tribe Slam Team, ranked the number one slam poetry team in the state and number 15 in the nation. He is also the author of the book of poetry called Trial & Error: The Autobiography of the Trying Poet. Follow him on Instagram for his latest work and performances.
