Based on my strong financial background, long track record of success, proven decision making abilities and personnel management strengths, I am the most qualified candidate for Aiken County Treasurer. I have the skills needed to handle the receipts of local property taxes, state shared revenues, federal funds, court fees and fines, County user fees and other funds collected by County agencies.

I know how to invest funds into interest bearing accounts, and to disburse said funds as required by State law and County ordinances. I also understand the many other functions of the Treasurer’s office which includes allocating funds to the proper authorities for such things as accommodation taxes, volunteer fire departments, and other municipalities in the county as well as appraising and selling real estate where the county acquires possession due to tax liens.

I am very civic and community minded with the willingness to serve. This is an opportunity to give back to the community I love.

I am John Cagle and running for Aiken County Treasurer. I have the best qualifications and most experience for the position with nearly 30 years in a professional Commercial Banking Career, having been a Senior Vice President for a major Banking Corporation and reported directly to the President. I have handled hundreds of millions of dollars in loans and deposits and responsible for my customer’s cash management needs.

To prepare me for my financial career, my education included a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management with a minor in Accounting from Clemson University and a Masters in Banking and Finance from LSU. I have also had my Real Estate Brokers License for over 20 years.

Additionally, I have been an independent business owner as well and as the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of a Major Local Corporation. I consider myself a professional business man with conservative business principles, not a politician.

The Treasurer's Office is often referred to as the bank for the county. Likewise, the Treasurer would be considered the banker for the county. With my background and experience, having nearly 30 years of professional commercial banking career, who could serve Aiken County better? I have also had my real estate brokers license 20 years, doing all types of real estate as well as having been an owner of Budget Rent-A-Car in Augusta, GA with vehicle experience.

Dealing with major corporations loans and deposits make me a perfect candidate for this position!
