Silver Bluff Volunteer Fire Department Silver Bluff Volunteer Fire Department, (a.k.a.

District 17), is a fire protection district operating under the laws of the state of South Carolina as a special purpose fee district. SBVFD serves a population of approximately 4,000 people and covers an area of 25 square miles, mutual Aid Agreements with surrounding departments extends this to approximately 75 square miles.

This morning members of SBVFD are training with members of Beech Island, New Ellenton, North Augusta, Couchton, Eureka, New Holland, Center, Langley, Montmorenci, and Belvedere fire departments. We are at Red Cliff Plantation working on water shuttle and mutual aid practices. This helps keep all our departments able to work together when the need arises!

If you're on your way to church this morning, be advised Independent Boulevard, around 150 to 130, is blocked in both directions due to a tree across the road and a power line down as well. There is no ETA right now as to when it will be cleared. Aiken Co-Op is enroute as well.
