Attached is the latest update from the manufacturer regarding our new fire apparatus, which is currently scheduled for delivery in late June.

Loose equipment has already started to arrive at both the station and dealership. We are looking forward to seeing the continued progress on the build over the next few weeks.

Quick action today by the members of Silver Bluff VFD on a reported brush fire call that ended up being a structure fire. Thankfully, the initial response included the 3000 Gallon Tanker acquired through local option sales tax several years ago! We were able to bring the storage shed under control before it could spread to the adjacent home.

Dear Residents of the Silver Bluff Volunteer Fire District,

We are reaching out to share some exciting news with you! As part of our strategic planning, your department has placed an order for a new fire apparatus that is scheduled for delivery this summer.

As with most of our fleet, this new truck will serve a dual purpose as it relates to fire operations. The manufacturer is providing weekly updates on the progress of the truck, so we will be posting photos periodically on social media. We also plan on notifying everyone regarding the specific delivery date early this summer.

We are grateful to everyone who continues to support the department and our efforts to provide the highest levels of service to our community.

Tonight, your volunteers are training on drafting and dump tank operations. This involves placing a large tank on the ground and drafting water from that to the engine fighting the fire. This allows us to keep flowing water when we need it! Working on this skill and keeping our training current helps us improve our ISO rating which helps our homeowners insurance rates!

This past Saturday members of Silver Bluff VFD and one of our mutual aid department New Ellenton Fire Dept
spent 8hrs training on vehicle stabilization. Both departments utilize Paratech stabilization equipment so as we continue to enhance our capabilities we often train together for seamless
integration on emergency scenes. We would like to thank Paratech and Safe Industries for the training and the lunch for our members. We also would like to thank BROOME SERVICE CENTER INC. for the use of their yard.
