💙 Attention Individuals and Families Affected by Autism

If you or your family member with autism has an open case with our agency, we can complete the referral required for the Aiken County Sheriff's Office Special Needs Occupant Decal Program.
Please contact your assigned case manager for assistance and additional information.

💙 SPECIAL NEEDS OCCUPANT DECALS AVAILABLE 💙

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office is proud to introduce Special Needs Occupant Decals. A new initiative within our Community Policing Division. These decals are designed to help increase awareness and promote safety for both children and adults with Autism in our community.

These decals are more than just a sticker and are intended to help law enforcement, first responders, and others, recognize that an occupant with Autism may be present in a vehicle or residence, and may not respond as expected. This initiative will help encourage a greater understanding and awareness during interactions or emergencies.

Decals will be available to:
• Parents of someone with Autism
• Legal guardians of someone with Autism
• Caretakers of someone with Autism

Please note:
• Decals are limited to 2 per family
• We will gladly supply more decals if needed, however a referral will be required by a case manager.

Decals are free of charge and are available Monday-Friday from 8:30-5:00 in the front lobby at the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
420 Hampton Ave NE Aiken, SC 29801

We are honored to support families in our community and to take another step toward creating a safer, more informed environment for anyone with Autism. 💙

Together, we can increase awareness, understanding, and safety!

🌧️ Rain or shine, our case managers show up! ☔️😂

Our Case Manager Kayla was preparing to brave the rain and make sure she could still get out to see the individuals she supports—and clearly, she came prepared! 😂👏🏽

And we have to give a special shoutout to Mr. Courtney, the creative mind behind this one-of-a-kind rain costume! 😂 He made sure Kayla was covered from head to toe and ready for whatever Mother Nature had planned. 🌧️☔️

It takes dedication, a great sense of humor, and apparently a custom-designed rain suit to get the job done! 💙

Thank you, Kayla, for your commitment to the individuals we serve, and thank you, Mr. Courtney, for making sure she stayed dry while doing it! 😂❤️

Success doesn’t have a one-size-fits-all definition.

For one person, it’s learning a new skill. For another, it’s moving into their own place. For someone else, it’s simply being heard and respected in their care planning.

At ACBD, we tailor everything around YOU — your goals, your needs, your life.
