⚠️ Water Release Update: Dworshak Dam ⚠️

Outflows from Dworshak Dam will gradually increase this weekend, rising from 1,700 cfs to 6,400 cfs by Sunday evening, June 7.

Expect continued fluctuations between 4,000 and 7,500 cfs throughout the following week.

💧 Why? These operations keep the reservoir near full pool and are carefully managed with regional partners to keep total dissolved gas levels below 110%.

🛑 Safety First! Please exercise extreme caution near riverbanks. Boaters, anglers, and recreationists on Dworshak Reservoir and downstream on the Clearwater River must remain alert to sudden changes in water elevation and flow volumes. Stay safe!

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers builds and maintains infrastructure communities rely on everyday, from flood protection to navigation systems and hydropower. The ‘Building Infrastructure, Not Paperwork’ initiative helps ensure we can deliver those projects efficiently by focusing our resources on infrastructure rather than unnecessary administrative delays. For the Northwestern Division, it means we can continue delivering projects that protect communities from flooding, support navigation and commerce, and provide renewable energy while improving the efficiency of how those projects move forward.

Our “Building Infrastructure, Not Paperwork” District Salary Transparency initiative, explained:

National Safe Boating Week, May 16–22, marks the unofficial start of another busy recreation season on the Snake and Columbia rivers.

As the operator of the federal navigation locks that keep this 465-mile inland waterway open from Astoria, Oregon, to Lewiston, Idaho, the Walla Walla District helps move goods, support jobs, and connect communities across the Northwest. Safe, responsible boating protects that economic engine by reducing accidents, minimizing delays, and keeping emergency resources focused where they are needed most.

As you head out this season, wear your life jacket, know the conditions, and follow all posted guidance at USACE-managed facilities.
