The Payne County Board of Commissioners has approved a county-wide burn ban effective immediately through April 6, following a vote by the Payne County Fire Chiefs.

No outdoor burning is allowed during this time.

Agricultural burning is still permitted only under strict conditions:
• A written prescribed burn plan must be followed
• A copy of the plan must be submitted to your local fire department and kept on-site
• Fire and law enforcement must be notified prior to burning

Brush piles are not considered agricultural burns and are not exempt from this ban.

Please reach out to us with any questions. Stay safe and help us prevent unwanted wildfires.

We had a successful evening assisting a couple members of our community with controlled property burns. We appreciate the opportunity to support our residents in a safe and coordinated manner.

We would like to say thank you to everyone that came out today for the predator hunt, it is our biggest fund raiser we do and the money we make off of it helps our department to maintain our apparatuses, gear and equipment that we need to continue to take care of our community.
