This is the place where books come to do good deeds with the help of the people who donate them and the people who buy and read them. Funds from The Book Cellar go toward subsidizing those pesky little holes in funding for the Agoura Hills Library. Funds supply magazine subscriptions, periodicals, books, DVD and CD purchases, teen and children’s programs, and replacing and upgrading furniture. Not
only that, but books are donated to schools in Los Angeles County and around the world. The Book Cellar is the used bookstore that repeatedly comes up in the “Best Of…” editions of the “LA Weekly.” In 2008 it garnered the “Best Literary Mine” and was named Best Used Book Store in L.A. and Ventura Counties. In 2010 it was “Best Excuse to Buy ‘Crime and Punishment.’ ”
