Yerba Buena Elementary School We have 450 students from various ethnic backgrounds which provides an empowering learning environment. All of our teachers have attended gifted training.

Located in Agoura Hills, California, Yerba Buena Elementary School is committed to creating a strong academic foundation for our students to develop their capabilities and achieve their maximum potential, intellectually, socially and emotionally. While visiting the YB campus you will see our staff teaching common core standards lessons and engaging our students in 21st century learning through div

erse activities at multiple levels. You will see all students thriving with the support of Principal Desiderio, their teachers, specialists, instructional assistants, office staff, classmates and parent volunteers. At YB, you will observe teachers' sensitivity to multiple intelligences and tailored instruction to accommodate each student. Among our 17 certified teachers, 66% have a Masters or PhD, with an average of 10 years teaching experience. Principal Desiderio is a board member of California Association for the Gifted. We also have three excellent teachers highly trained in differentiated instruction for our special needs students and an amazing teacher who works specifically with our English language learners. YB also receives funds to train our teachers in differentiated instruction for students that need additional intervention or academic challenge. We invite you to attend one of YB’s Parent Faculty Association’s (PFA) monthly meetings. The active members provide hundreds of volunteer hours at YB and raise funds that directly support the work of our classroom teachers and the wonderful programs at Yerba Buena.
