It has been a busy few weeks at the Senior Center with lots of Intergenerational activities. We had the Peace Valley Foundation paint some friendship rocks for us and put them around the outside of the Senior Center, The young women’s club donated begonias to hand out to our Seniors, and today we had the Martin Middle School from Rhode Island perform songs from their marching band and chorus before they headed to Sox Flags for a day of fun. Having 150 students at the Senior Center today was a lot of fun!!! Look in the comments for some clips of videos. We also received the golf cart from our Friends Group and the Housing Authority contributions. We will properly break it in next week but did take a few pics. Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Today the Senior Center had 2 celebration’s in one. We celebrated Brian’s retirement from being a Meals on Wheels Driver. Brian has been a dedicated driver to our most vulnerable clients here in Agawam. He has brought thousands of smiles and wiped hundreds of tears. He has also had to say goodbye to many of his favorite residents . He was the bright smiling face they saw every day and reassurance they needed . Thank you Brian for the years of dedication you have given to the ASC!!! We will miss you.

We then celebrated Kristina’s 20 year work anniversary at the Senior Center. Everyone knows she is the glue that keeps this place going. She will greet you with a smile and take you right under her wing. We love her and are so glad she made a choice to work here at ASC 20 years ago. We have the best staff even though getting all 23 of us together at the same time is impossible on a Thursday at 9:30am we know that Kristina is our shining star. Congratulations to Kristina and Good Luck to Brian !!!!

The Martin Middle School Chorus and Band, from East Providence, Rhode Island, are wonderful, award-winning ensembles of students who love to perform and share their love of music. They are so excited to return to the Agawam Senior Center to perform a variety of songs for you! The marching band will perform our National Anthem, a march, and other selections and the chorus will sing several lovely pieces for your enjoyment.
We look forward to seeing you on Friday, May 29th 10:45am!!
