What an incredible blessing for our community. 🩵
As part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ initiative to deliver 250 semi loads of food to 250 food banks in honor of 250 years of America, our region received an entire semi load of food to help fight hunger across western Wyoming.
Over 1,400 cases of food were unloaded, sorted, divided between 5 anti-hunger agencies, and loaded back out where they needed to go — with the Afton Food Pantry alone receiving 379 cases of food including pears, rice, peanut butter, flour, pasta, salsa, and so much more.
We are deeply grateful to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for their continued generosity and support of anti-hunger efforts. This food will help stock shelves, provide staple items for families, and make a lasting impact in our communities in the months ahead.
A huge thank you as well to the National Guard Readiness Center staff for allowing use of the parking lot, Call Ready Mix for the forklift, Hastings for the pallet jack and hauling away pallets, Jason Linford and Sunrise Engineering Staff, Scott Milne, Lance Oviatt, Chad and Bethany Packard, Tim and Stacie Nichols for all their help facilitating this, and every volunteer who showed up ready to work including all the high school classes who were willing to come over. It took a big effort to unload, sort, and distribute this massive donation but we rocked it within 2.5 hours💪
This is what neighbors helping neighbors looks like. 🩵💛
