What an incredible team effort! 💪🚒 On behalf of our department, a HUGE thank you to our volunteers, paid staff, board members, our Chief and Deputy Chief for their dedication in updating the engine bay. This facelift wasn’t a new station — it was community members working nights and weekends to make improvements come to life.

Special thanks to John Potts for his assistance and to Firefighter Joe Miller for bringing their knowledge and partnerships to the project. We’re also grateful to DCH Enterprises, Inc. and NexGen Builders for donating supplies, man-hours, and helping with patching ceiling tiles, filling blocks, and restoring walls after paneling and insulation removal.

A huge thank you to our friend Brad Pack, for coming by at a moments notice after we noticed a ceiling leak in the engine bay and making repairs so we can proceed with our project.

Here are a few before-and-after photos — and we’re not done yet! It really does take a village, and we’re blessed with amazing people who helped bring this project to life. Thank you all! 🙏❤️

Nothing but pure joy at Fork Fire Department this morning. Our hearts are full today after hosting an incredible group of kids for a station tour “The Learning Loop Homeschool Group”! 🚒✨ They watched a firefighter put on fire gear, participated in abilities tests, manned the hoseline, and watched the deck gun in action.
We covered important safety skills like:
• What to do when a smoke alarm goes off 🔔
• Calling 911 in an emergency ☎️
• Home fire escape planning and “once you’re out, stay out” 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
• Stop, drop, cover, and roll if clothes catch fire 🔥
• Get low and go to escape through smoke and heat 🌫️

We also talked about the history of the fire service, practiced bucket brigades, fire extinguisher training, tool carries, and victim rescues. Parents were engaged and eager to learn about fire, water safety, and close before you doze. Our firefighters were touched by the beautiful cards the kids made and grateful for all the snacks. Thank you to everyone who joined us today.

Sweet surprise alert!!! 🍪✨A huge thank-you to Oak Ridge NC Fire and our own Board of Directors member, JohnnyAngel Hernandez for their generosity. 🚒 Their department was gifted Girl Scout cookies, and they passed the kindness on to us. Acts like this strengthen community ties between local organizations and our first responders. Small acts of kindness make a meaningful impact. ❤️

🚨Free Smoke Alarms Available for Fork Fire District Residents! 🚨

Our department was granted a limited number of smoke detectors from the NC Office of State Fire Marshal.

The detectors and installation are FREE .

Important: All alarms will be professionally installed by fire department personnel; we cannot hand them out for self-installation.

Feeling grateful today. Our department had the pleasure of paying it forward by donating surplus turnout gear and pagers to Programa Mayday México. 🙏🚒🇲🇽 Just as others have helped us in the past, we want to support those in need now. Paying forward resources not only strengthens international partnerships but also enhances firefighter safety where it’s needed most.

Big thanks to Efrain Gerardo for the generous tokens of appreciation from their program. 🤝

Safer county. 💪🚒🚑 Over the last few weeks, our department, along with agencies across Davie County came together for a Machinery & Ag Refresher Class— 🚜 training side-by-side, sharing equipment and knowledge that matter when seconds count. An important investment in operational readiness, interagency familiarity with equipment, and relationship-building.

Grateful to announce a meaningful community partnership: ❤️ ✨Davie County Government Board of Commissioners donated a surplus vehicle to our department, enabling more efficient daily operations and freeing frontline apparatus to respond to emergencies. Thanks to Philcar Automotive & Tire 🚒for conducting the annual inspection and making necessary repairs to ensure the vehicle is street-safe, and to Grants Carwash-Ministry for professional detailing🙏. In an environment of limited funding, thoughtful donations and local partnerships extend our operational capacity and demonstrate strong community support.
