A tentative agreement between Detroit school teachers and the Detroit Public Schools Community District is bringing excitement for teachers. The recent deal between the two comes with increased pay and added benefits.

The Education Freedom Tax Credit is a private school voucher program, championed by Project 2025 and Besty DeVos, and designed to funnel taxpayer funds into unaccountable K-12 private and religious schools.

These funds should be used to support public schools, not defund them.
