Dr. Chris Jones is a research scientist, author, and leading advocate for environmental justice in Iowa, with decades of experience studying the state's water quality. He has served as a research engineer at the University of Iowa, and has previously worked with both the Des Moines Water Works and the Iowa Soybean Association.

In 2023, Chris authored "The Swine Republic: Struggles with the Truth About Agriculture and Water Quality," chosen by the Library of Congress to represent Iowa at the 2024 National Book Festival. He writes widely on water quality and environmental issues, helping translate complex science into accessible insights for the public.

Currently serving as president of Driftless Water Defenders, Dr. Jones has been a consistent voice calling for accountability, transparency, and practical solutions for all parties to protect Iowa's natural resources - bringing urgency and clarity to one of the most critical issues facing the state today.
