The MMR vaccine is one of the best tools we have to prevent measles. Measles is very contagious and can cause severe illness, especially in babies and folks with compromised immune systems.

The good news- if you are vaccinated, your risk of getting measles after being exposed is significantly lower. The vaccine is 97% effective at preventing illness!

Don't know if you had the vaccine as a child? Looking for an MMR vaccine to protect you during the current measles outbreak? We have your back! Call us at 515-993-3750 and schedule an MMR vaccine appointment at no cost to you.

Moms & dads: Measles is in Iowa and that can be scary to think about if you have littles at home. Talk with your child's pediatrician about the MMR vaccine. Vaccination is an amazing tool that helps us to greatly reduce the risk of a measles infection if we are exposed.

First doses of the MMR vaccine are given at 12 months, but an extra dose is possible starting at 6 months if you want protection to start a little earlier.
