🎊Scholarship Spotlight: Kain Killmer 🎊
Dallas County Farm Bureau is proud to announce seven students were awarded a scholarship to further their agricultural careers and education and will highlight each of the recipients. This week, we are proud to highlight Kain Killmer, son of Kevin and Holly Killmer of Perry, Iowa. Kain is currently attending college at University of Wisconsin Platteville and is majoring in Construction Management and minoring in Safety Management. Kain has been actively involved in wrestling, including the captain of his wrestling team, and academically involved with National Honors Society, Silver Cord, Dean’s List, and more. When not busy with school and sports, Kain has stayed busy by being a Project Manager Intern at Weitz Industrial, as well as a Laborer at Perry Golf and Country Club and Killmer Fencing LLC. When asking Kain why agriculture is important to him and his family, he notes “Agriculture is what provided for me growing up, taught me how to work, and changed the way I live and see the world. Growing up on a small family farm has its struggles. The demand and lifestyle is not one many want to pursue. The long days in harsh temperatures has taught me lessons about family, community, generosity, work, and gratitude that have prepared me for the rest of my life. Agriculture has given my family something to bring us together, and a way of life." Congratulations, Kain!
