6th grade students presented full slide decks and fielded real-time questions during their recent Shark Tank pitch project.

Student teams behind competing concepts Sneak-a-snack and Cuff Busters defended their work in front of a panel of 11th grade "Sharks." The high school panel evaluated each presentation on product concept and Q&A responses before awarding top investment to Sneak-a-snack.

BART juniors attended the NEACAC college fair last Friday to meet with admissions representatives and explore post-secondary options. With the sun streaming down on our juniors, students spent the day gathering information, asking questions, and planning for their next steps after graduation.

This week, students presented their Face-to-Face Mask Museum, bringing weeks of deep self-reflection into physical form.

After studying how global cultures use masks for protection, power, and transformation, students turned that lens inward. They explored the metaphorical masks they wear in daily life, examining the faces they project to the world versus the real thoughts, feelings, and identities they keep underneath. Each dual-concept mask artistically captures that tension between their public persona and what lies beneath the surface.

On Monday, Spanish students at BART gathered for a class picnic to celebrate National Hispanic and Latino Heritage Month. Students and families prepared traditional dishes and drinks reflecting their culture, heritage, and identity to share together over lunch.

Alongside the picnic, the BIPOC Student Union partnered with 9th through 11th grade Spanish classes on an interactive research project. Led by BIPOC Student Union President Aiko Hosmer and student representatives, groups created detailed posters showcasing the history, traditions, cuisine, slang, and influential public figures of various Spanish-speaking nations.

Thank you to all the students and student leaders who put so much care and dedication into making these efforts possible.

Yesterday, our Student Ambassadors walked up to Jaeschke’s Orchard for an afternoon of c***r, fresh donuts, and team building.

These students represent BART in our community, stepping up to guide local service projects, host guests, and support their peers across grade levels. Before taking on those responsibilities for the school year, spending time walking together and learning about each other outside the classroom creates a solid foundation. Leadership starts with connection, and yesterday was a strong start for this group.
