The National Park Service is seeking public input on a proposed Triumphal Arch that could be built along the historic Memorial Avenue corridor connecting Washington, D.C., and Arlington National Cemetery.
The public comment period runs through June 15 and focuses on a new report examining how the project could affect historic landmarks and cultural resources.
The proposal, backed by President Donald Trump, would include the arch along with potential plaza improvements, landscape changes, utility upgrades, traffic circulation modifications, and construction staging areas.
The review area includes portions of the George Washington Memorial Parkway, the Lincoln Memorial, and sections of the National Mall, all considered historically significant parts of the nation’s ceremonial core.
The National Park Service is accepting comments online and by email through June 15 as part of its review process under the National Historic Preservation Act.
Officials also noted that submitted comments may become part of the public record.
