🚸 Back to School Reminder 🚸

Tomorrow marks the first day of school here in Acton! As students return, please remember to:

✅ Drive carefully in school zones
✅ Watch for students walking to and from school
✅ Allow extra travel time for the construction at Kelley’s Corner (Main St. & Mass Ave) which may cause delays during the first few weeks of school.

We will also be conducting extra traffic enforcement in school zones to help ensure the safety of students and families.

Your patience and caution help keep our community safe. Let’s make it a safe and smooth start to the school year for everyone!

Fire hydrant flow tests will be conducted starting at 8 pm tonight, Tuesday, August 25th. The first test will be at 35 Nagog Park Drive and the second test will be at 14 Forest Road (Acton DPW). Some customers may experience discloration, caused by minerals stirred up in the pipes, which should settle out during the night.

A fire hydrant is being replaced on Washington Drive today 8/19. This will require water service to be interrupted between Jackson and Coolidge Drives for most of the day. Some customers may experience discolored water as a result of this work.

During the August 10th Board meeting, former Commissioner Steve Stuntz, was publicly recognized for over 40 years of dedicated service to the community as a District Finance Committee member and Commissioner. During a private event, District Manager Matthew Mostoller presented an engraved chair and a State Senate citation from Senator Jamie Eldridge. This kind of commitment by Steve and others before him, has enabled the District to succesfully navigate challenges that many community water systems would not have endured. Thank you and enjoy your "retirement"!

A Water Main Break has occurred on Alcott Street, between the two ends of Emerson Drive, causing approximately 15 customers to have no water at all. Some customers may experience reduced water pressure, no water, or discolored water. We are onsite, working to repair the problem, however, two service lines need to be tapped as part ofteh repair.
