Mobile Food Truck Monday - 🍗

Please find attached the QR code for Monday’s lunch, in case you wanted to preorder.

Chick-fil-A Waterloo Food Trailer will be serving the lunch hours this week with no supper hours planned.

Chick-fil-A is an approved vendor with the City of Ackley.

The City of Ackley will always do a vendor debut to let our community know when a vendor has completed all the required paperwork and are approved to be in the city to provide any kind of service. If you see someone going door to door and you are wondering if they should be here - you can always ask them for proof of license or go to this city page to verify. We do this for your safety and knowledge that a company has checked in and is legit.

We also go through the rules with them so they are aware what the hours are that they can be here. You can find these same guidelines on our city webpage at www.ackleyiowa.net under the government tab and then the city ordinance tab. It’s Chapter 122. If you have any concerns, you can contact City Hall during normal business hours to inquire or you can contact an elected official or you are more than welcome to contact the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office.

Appreciation Post 🙌
Now that the hustle and bustle of Memorial Day, pool opening, Sauerkraut Days, household hazardous waste day, goodwill truck, and city wide clean up is just about behind us - it’s important to show our appreciation to those who stepped up to assist our public works department in a few different areas.
Whether you volunteered to mow, lent a mower, picked up sticks, lent a gator, w**d whipped, assisted in power washing the pool, or even marking for a monument permit - we appreciate every single one of you and we couldn’t have done it without your help. (I apologize if I forgot any other task that someone may have done)
You stepped up, no questions asked, and just performed the things - 👏
Our volunteers don’t look for accolades and I won’t mention names. They know who they are and your volunteerism didn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated. THANK YOU!

With that being said - let’s move on to the Good News 🗞️
As most know, we have had a few others who have teamed up and planned a couple fund raisers to benefit our pool …
One for swimming lessons for any family who may be experiencing financial hardship and one for equipment for the splash pad and pool area. Both are super awesome gestures! When a community comes together - it truly shows our strength .
Please reach out to our Pool Manager at the Ackley Municipal Pool page to find out the details for the financial assistance for swimming lessons - we want to be sure every child has an opportunity to learn to swim and enjoy the pool and it’s a very simple process 🏊
When the committee and manager determine exactly what the donation total came in at and what they decide to purchase with those donation funds, I’m positive, they will do a fundraiser reveal. They are super excited to share this with you. Stay tuned to the Ackley Municipal Pool page.

Splash pad update - the concrete gutter has been poured and the next repair is the plaster resurfacing. With this resurfacing, we are hopeful that our splash pad will sustain the hard Iowa winters 🙈

🍔 Vendor Showcase 🌭

Mobile Food Truck Monday will debut a new to our community vendor. Please help me welcome TaSty AF-Ahhh Fresh.

* Serving supper 4-7
* Variety of Entrees
* Variety of Sides

TaSty AF-Ahhh Fresh will be located on the north side of City Hall in Victory Park. They will be teaming up with The Soda Stop this evening along with our community Farmer's Market. Victory Park will be the place to be this evening!

Come on down for their first trip to Mobile Food Truck Monday and show them our small town but big support! Please 🗣️ to get the word out. Thanks much!

TaSty is a registered vendor in the City of Ackley. TaSty will also be serving us outside a couple other local businesses - so if you miss them this evening, you can find them on Tuesday at Grumpy's and on Wednesday at Dollar General. Please follow their page for times and details.
