We would like to thank everyone involved in our drill! From our nursing home and hospital staff, our Pafford crew, our students and teachers and our law enforcement and fire personnel. Every individual involved had their own important role and executed their roles perfectly! We would like to thank the citizens of the Town of Ackerman for their support and courtesy during this time! We would also like to thank Ariana Davis Photography for taking pictures of our first responders!

Good morning! On 09.09.2026 at approximately 9:30 a.m., Ackerman Police Department along with Ackerman Fire Department, Choctaw County Emergency Management Agency, Choctaw County Nursing Home, Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office, Choctaw Regional Medical Center and Pafford Ambulance services will be hosting a Community Disaster Scenario to test the readiness and effectiveness of each department. Starting approximately 8:15 a.m., W. Cherry street in front of the Nursing home will be temporarily closed during this scenario. This scenario will not block the Nursing Home east entrance nor block the entrance to Oakwood Apartments. All departments will still be functional even during this scenario! Please be cautious in this area during these hours. Please do not enter/interfere with the scenario and do not call 911 as this will be a controlled drill. Ackerman Police Department apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause!
