📸Today, Dr. Miller stopped by the Level 1 Cosmetology class to talk with our talented Badger Program students and while she was there they gave her a fresh haircut! ✂️💇‍♀️

It was a great hands-on learning opportunity for our students, and Dr. Miller rocked her new look while showing her full support for career and technical education within Accomack County Public Schools!

The Badger Program continues to provide real-world skills in a supportive environment and this is what hands-on learning looks like!

🌊✨ Our 1st graders from Chincoteague Elementary School had a splash-tastic day at the Chincoteague Bay Field Station & Shad Landing in Greenbackville!

They rolled up their pants and got their feet wet while exploring the rich ecosystem living in the shallow waters of the Chincoteague Bay. This is just one of the incredible benefits of being on the Eastern Shore of Virginia - having world-class natural classrooms right in our backyard!

☀️ Just when we needed it most, the rain cleared and gave us a perfect day outside.
A huge THANK YOU to the Accomack County Sheriff's Office, Accomack County SRO's, ACPS staff, dedicated volunteers, and all our community partners for another fantastic D.A.R.E. Day at Nandua High School!

Today, 5th-grade students from across the Eastern Shore came together to celebrate completing the D.A.R.E. program. They learned valuable lessons about the dangers of drugs and alcohol, while also discovering how to make smart decisions and become positive contributors in their communities.

The celebration was full of fun with inflatables, snow cones, games, and even a simulated DUI course with Beer Goggles!

We’re so grateful for everyone who helped make this day memorable and meaningful for our students. Investing in our kids is investing in a brighter future for the Eastern Shore! ❤️

🌱 May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and as we head into the final stretch of the school year, we want to check in with our families.

With testing season and end-of-year pressures, many students are experiencing heightened stress, anxiety, and overwhelm. Please know you’re not alone - and your child doesn’t have to navigate this alone either.

Our mental health counselors are here and ready to support both students and families with caring, confidential resources and strategies to help ease the pressure and finish the year strong.

If your student seems more anxious, withdrawn, irritable, or overwhelmed, reach out. Early support makes a big difference.

5/28/2026 Update: In collaboration with community partners, TCS WILL be in session today, but at an alternate location. We would like to thank all community members for their support and dedication to our students, ensuring their learning success!

5:45 PM Update: Due to preliminary findings and the extent of damage, causing no power to the school- there will be NO SCHOOL for TCS tomorrow, Thursday, May 28th.

ATTENTION Tangier Combined School families: At this time, the school is without power due to a lightning strike. All students were off campus prior to the incident, and all staff who were in the building are safe and accounted for. At this time, we are working to gather more information on the status of electrical equipment and the extent of the damage.

Day has been postponed to Friday‼️ We know our Elementary students are looking forward to this fun-filled day with the Accomack County Sheriff's Office, so we would like to ensure the weather is more favorable and the field has time to dry! 🌞

We are grateful for their courage and commitment, and we hold their memories and the families they left behind in our thoughts today.
