After two years of collecting data and evaluating facilities, the Abilene ISD Board of Trustees formed a 16-member Citizens Master Facilities Planning Committee to study and make recommendations of needs. The Citizens Committee logged 265 volunteer hours of investigation, analysis and deliberation resulting in the following projects being recommended as high-priority needs, now presented as an $87.68 million bond proposal.
