Today we recognize World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
Go purple with us to stand up for older adults and raise awareness of abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Purple represents dignity, respect, and the right to live free from harm.
At the Alzheimer’s Association, we know those living with dementia are especially vulnerable. Together, we can be a voice for their safety and support.
Wear purple. Start the conversation. Take a stand.

We had such a great time visiting with everyone at The Mill and sharing the many ways to volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association. We are grateful to each person who took the time to join us. Our work is only possible because of the amazing volunteers who give their time and heart to this mission. Thank you for helping us serve our community.💜

What the research showed us is truly powerful: Better brain health isn’t about reinventing your life. It’s about positive, everyday steps that add up over time.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce you to (re)think your brain – a new initiative grounded in science and built around positive steps to help you live better now, protect your memory and potentially lower your risk of dementia.

Ready to get started? Sign up for the (re)think your brain 6-Step Challenge! rethinkyourbrain.org

💜 Caregivers deserve support, understanding, and a place to breathe.

Join us for the Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Support Group on May 21 at 10 a.m. at Wesley Court Senior Living, 2617 Antilley Road, Abilene, TX 79606.

This group is a welcoming space where caregivers can share experiences, learn practical strategies, and connect with others who truly understand the challenges of caring for someone living with Alzheimer’s or another dementia. No one should have to navigate this journey alone, and support groups often become a lifeline for families.

Whether you’re new to caregiving or have been walking this path for years, you are welcome. Your story matters, and your well‑being matters.

💜 You don’t have to do this alone. We’re here for you.
