The Transfer Station lost power last night. Their phones are down and they are currently only able to accept limbs, household hazardous waste and metal.

After last evenings significant rainfall and wind, the County and Townships are working their way around the county assessing and repairing roads, culverts. etc. There are multiple areas affected so we ask for your patience. Highlights of the May 28 Dickinson County Commission meeting:

• Approved Leann Kooken’s appointment to the Central Kansas Mental Health Board of Directors
• Approved a new HVAC system for the DTF building
• Approved security technology upgrades for the courthouse, jail, and evidence room to strengthen safety and operations
• Reviewed FY2027 budget requests from the Sheriff’s Office, County Appraiser’s Office, and North Central Kansas Juvenile Detention Center.

The next Commission meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 4, with a work session at 9:30 a.m. followed by the regular meeting at 11:00 a.m.
