Every day at Journey Home, there are moments that remind us why this work matters.

A family who needs help keeping the lights on.
A person who needs food for the week.
Someone starting over who needs clothing, household items, or simply a safe place to turn.
A resident working hard to get back on their feet and needing someone to believe they can.

We can't do this alone.

THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS YOU DON'T SEE. ❤️

You may see a food box leave Journey Home.

You may see someone receive clothing or household items.

You may hear that we helped with rent or a utility bill.

But what you don't always see is what happens next.

You don't see the parent who can finally breathe because they know their children will have food.

You don't see the person who gets to keep their home because someone helped them through a difficult month.

You don't see the confidence that comes when someone realizes they aren't alone.

You don't see every prayer.

Every conversation.

Every setback.

Every little victory.

That's the heart of Journey Home.

We're here to walk alongside people as they work toward something better.

And we are blessed to have a community willing to walk with us. ❤️

✨ WHAT DOES HOPE LOOK LIKE?

Sometimes hope looks like a stocked pantry.

Sometimes it looks like a warm coat.

Sometimes it's help paying a bill.

Sometimes it's finding a few household items after finally getting a place to call home.

And sometimes…hope looks like sitting across from someone and saying:

“You don't have to figure this out alone.”

At Journey Home, we believe people deserve an opportunity to move forward.

Not judgment.
Not shame.
Not a handout that keeps them stuck.

We are a hand up.

A chance to breathe, regroup, and take the next step.

We are incredibly grateful for every volunteer, donor, church, business, and community member who helps make those moments possible.

🏠 JOURNEY HOME IS MORE THAN A PLACE.

It's a phone call when someone doesn't know where else to turn.

It's a food box when the grocery budget ran out.

It's help with a utility bill when the choice is between keeping the lights on and putting food on the table.

It's a fresh start.

It's a listening ear.

It's someone saying, “Let's figure this out together.”

We get to witness people take steps forward that may look small from the outside—but can be enormous to the person taking them.

And sometimes, the greatest thing we can give someone isn't clothing or a box of food.

It's hope.

It's dignity.

It's the reminder that their story isn't over.

God called us to serve, and we are honored to do that work right here in our community. ❤️

Sometimes a hand up means more than meeting today’s need—it means learning how to build a better tomorrow. ❤️

At Journey Home, we use Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University to help people learn practical tools for managing their money, reducing debt, creating a budget, building savings and working toward financial stability.

And this resource isn't just for the individuals living in our home.

We make it available to anyone who walks through our doors.

Because whether someone is currently facing homelessness, struggling to make ends meet, or simply wants to get better control of their finances, we believe knowledge and practical tools can make a difference.

Our goal isn't simply to help someone through a difficult season.

It's to help equip them for the seasons ahead.

Food assistance can help put dinner on the table tonight.

Utility assistance can help keep the lights on.

And financial education can help someone learn how to make the most of what they have tomorrow.

That's what a hand up, not a handout looks like at Journey Home. ❤️

You never really know what someone is carrying.

The person standing in line next to you.

The family living down the street.

The coworker who always says, “I'm doing okay.”

Behind closed doors, they may be trying to figure out how to pay the electric bill, put food on the table, keep a roof over their family's heads or make it through another difficult month.

That's why Journey Home exists.

We meet people where they are and help provide practical resources when life becomes overwhelming — because sometimes one little bit of help can keep a difficult situation from becoming a crisis.

And sometimes, knowing that someone cares is just as important as the help itself.

You may never know the full story someone is carrying. So let's be a community that makes it a little easier to carry. ❤️
