🎃🌽 AES BIG EVENT is coming! 🌽🎃

Students have the opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled day at Mask Family Farms with hay rides, a petting zoo, train rides, pumpkins, and more! 🚜🐐🎃

Students earn points by staying on green, purple, or blue for positive behavior and through good attendance. Students must earn 90 points and have NO bus or office referrals to participate.

💙🐾 Parents, please encourage your child to come to school every day, make good choices, and show their best behavior so they can join in the fun!

🌟 Teamwork Makes the Dream Work! 🌟
Mrs. Buchanan’s 3rd grade class kicked off the school year by putting their teamwork skills to the test! 💪🏽🤝 During the “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work” Challenge, students worked together, communicated, problem-solved, and learned that we can accomplish so much more when we work as a team!

We have several exciting and important events coming up this August at Aberdeen Elementary!
📝 August 17–21 – Kindergarten Readiness Assessment
During this week, our kindergarten students will complete the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment to help us learn more about each child's strengths and prepare for a successful school year.
🍧 August 20 – Kona Ice
Kona Ice will be on campus! Students can enjoy a cool treat during the school day.
🗺️ August 25 | 5:00–6:00 PM – GPS Parent Night
Parents are encouraged to attend as we review your child's i-Ready Diagnostic results, explain what the data means, discuss learning goals for the school year, and share ways you can support your child's success at home.

🎉 What an Incredible First Week at Aberdeen Elementary! 💙🐾
What a fantastic way to kick off the 2026–2027 school year! From smiling faces on the first day to community-building activities in our classrooms, our Bullpups have been learning, growing, and making new friendships from day one.
This week, students worked together to build strong classroom communities, learned routines and expectations, and created social contracts in their specials classes to help make this a successful year for everyone. These first few days have laid the foundation for an amazing year of learning!
We are so thankful for our students, families, teachers, and staff for making the first week such a success. We can't wait to see all the wonderful things our Bullpups will accomplish this year.

📣 🚗💙 First Day of School Reminder – Aberdeen Elementary 💙🚗
The wait is over! We are excited to welcome our Bullpups back to school on Monday! 🐾 We can't wait to see everyone's smiling faces as we kick off an amazing school year!
Please help us have a safe and smooth first day by reviewing these important reminders:
✅ New Attendance Policy: Please take a moment to review the updated Mississippi attendance guidelines. Every day of learning matters!
🚗 Morning & Afternoon Car Line: Be sure to follow all car line procedures to help keep traffic moving safely and efficiently. Please pull all the way forward, have students ready to exit the vehicle, and follow staff directions at all times.
🎒 First Day Arrival:
Kindergarten parents may walk their child to the classroom on the first day.
Parents of students in all other grades may only walk their child to class if the student is new to Aberdeen Elementary.
📝 Registration Reminder: If your child has not been registered, they cannot attend school until registration has been completed. If an unregistered student arrives at school, a parent/guardian will be contacted to pick them up.

📚✨ Open House was a success at Aberdeen Elementary! ✨📚

We were thrilled to welcome so many families to our Open House today! Thank you to all of the parents and guardians who came out to meet our teachers, visit classrooms, and show your support as we kick off a brand-new school year.

The excitement is building, and we can't wait to welcome our students on Monday for the first day of school! Here's to an amazing 2026–2027 school year filled with learning, growth, and success.
