The U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command was established by the Vice Chief of Staff with the primary function of ensuring that our Soldiers go to war with weapons that work. ATEC has overall responsibility for all Army developmental and operational testing, operating from two fully integrated major subordinate commands: the U.S. Army Operational Test Command and the U.S. Army Evaluation Center, and has multiple test centers located across the United States.

Established in 1942 and dedicated in 1955 to honor Major Joe Berk Michael, Dugway Proving Ground Michael Army Airfield has a rich legacy of advancing military aviation. Although its iconic 80-foot control tower is no longer standing, the airfield remains a vital part of our mission today with three active airstrips. โœˆ๏ธ

Developed by the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center, the new Proof Gun System (PGS) tested at Yuma Proving Ground streamlines operations and saves valuable resources for the future of artillery modernization. By allowing gun tubes to be tested without a full weapon chassis, it drastically cuts setup time to support the U.S. Army goal of producing 100,000 155mm rounds per month. ๐Ÿœ๏ธโš™๏ธ

U.S. Army Yuma Test Center recently acquired a Proof Gun System (PGS) developed by U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center, which allows a gun tube to be mounted and fired for testing without the weapon system. This supports the U.S. Armyโ€™s initiative to ramp up overall production capacity for 155mm artillery munitions. Read more at: https://dvidshub.net/r/38viip

Join us in congratulating Mr. Nick S. Patel for being selected as the ATEC Headquarters Mission Support Personnel Employee of the Fourth Quarter for Fiscal Year 25! ๐ŸŽ‰

Nick has been an absolute trailblazer for our team. He spearheaded the development of "Ghostwriter," a generative AI agent that drafts detailed test plans right here at HQ ATEC. This innovative tool has revolutionized our processes, slashing the time required to create a new test plan from over 200 man-hours to under a single hour, resulting in significant cost savings of over $25,000 per plan. โฑ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ธ

Alongside a junior Army Fellow, Nick managed this project from the ground up - defining user requirements, designing the system architecture, and building both the front and back-end systems. ๐Ÿ’ป

Beyond his incredible work in AI, Nick was also instrumental in rebuilding the Contractor Information Management System and successfully migrating the Organization Inspection Program Tool to the ATEC Data Mesh. ๐ŸŒ

Thank you, Nick, for your dedication to modernization, efficiency, and excellence. ๐Ÿ‘
