Day 38….

38 days of No Pay, Zero Compensation of any type and NO HOPE! No hope given to all of the “Essential Personnel” from the Politicians that are voted into office to keep this Country running, besides a “Thank You for Your Service”. There have been 15 attempts to pass a resolution which would bring a much needed Payday to everyone considered “Essential”. Every vote attempt has failed all while Congress continues to collect their paycheck’s and go home.

The men and women of APG Fire & Emergency Services “Local F-267” have reported for duty for the last 38 days with ZERO PAY due to the Government Shutdown. Personnel have responded to numerous Calls for Service to include: 6 Working Incidents consisting of Structure Fires and Entrapments. We will continue to respond to incidents and provide services to APG and the surrounding communities just as we always have.

Our members and their families are suffering and waiting for any light at the end of the tunnel, end the shutdown and restore funding!

29 Days….

The men and women of APG Fire & Emergency Services “Local F-267” have reported for duty all while not being paid due to the continuous Government Shutdown for 29 days. We continue to answer calls for service and provide services to APG and the surrounding communities just as we always have as “Essential Personnel”.

The silence and delays from Washington D. C. are unacceptable and our Federal Firefighters deserve better. It is time to end the shutdown, restore funding, and allow our members to collect a paycheck again. We’re still here doing our job and we are waiting for the Senate to do theirs.

The Members of Local F-267 and the Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire & Emergency Services say a farewell to FF Jesse Bumbaugh.

FF Bumbaugh is working his final shift for APGFD which will end at 0800 this morning. Although FF Bumbaugh was only with us for a year (Assigned Group 7 Edgewood), he proved himself a hard worker and an asset to the organization. FF Bumbaugh will be transferring to another department to further his career and reduce his commute by 2 hours. Best wishes for a safe and great career Jesse!
