Over the weekend the 229th Army Band provided musical support to the 251st Pass and Review for the 1-175th Infantry Regiment at the historic Fifth Regiment Armory in Baltimore. The 229th is the hardest working unit in the MDARNG, supporting numerous ceremonies, public events, conducting good will missions for our organization annually.

The students of the Basic Military Police Course have spent the last two weeks leaning topics such as military law, emergency vehicle operations, first-aid and CPR, defensive tactics, and many other tasks of garrison Military Police Soldiers.

In alignment with Department of Defense (DoD) Instruction 5400.17 and recent Executive Orders issued by the President, the National Guard is reviewing its social media content to ensure compliance with DoD policies and priorities. As a result, certain posts have been removed or are in the process of being removed in accordance with federal guidance.

The National Guard is committed to transparency, professionalism, and adherence to DoD directives.

Day 3 of CCFSPCC, today CSM (Retired) Aarion Franklin, former CSM 70th Regiment, was our guest speaker. He lead an engaging discussion with the students on the relationship between a commander and a first sergeant, the attributes required to be an effective leader and lessons he learned over the course of his career. Next COL Waters, MDARNG G4, and his staff informed the students in all aspects of the Logistics world.

CCFSPCC continues, today students received training from the MDARNG G8 and G3 shops. They learned about company level pay requirements, training management, mobilization, the schools program and several other topics.

This morning we kicked off the Company Commander First Sergeant Pre-Command Course on Edgewood. We were honored to have BG Andrew Collins, Commander MDARNG, and CSM Patrick Metzger, CSM MDARNG, address the class on their expectations and vision for the organization. This course is designed to give future company commanders and first sergeants the tools they need to be successful in their future assignments.

The Students of BMPC 24-001 have spent the last several days learning how to safely conduct vehicle stops, high-risk stops, and investigating suspected impaired drivers.

Over the past few days, the BMPC 24-001 students completed a three-day Law Enforcement Situational Training Exercise, concluding Phase One classes and reaching the midpoint of their range training with the M17.
