At 3:55 AM on Sunday, August 23rd, Central Fire & EMS was dispatched to a report of smoke alarms sounding and a residence smelling of smoke in the City of Colby.

Upon arrival, crews found smoke coming from the basement. The homeowner quickly used a fire extinguisher to extinguish the flames, preventing the fire from spreading throughout the remainder of the home.

Firefighters conducted a complete overhaul of the scene to ensure all remaining hot spots were extinguished. All occupants and pets inside the home were able to safely evacuate, and no injuries were reported at the time of the incident.

Central Fire & EMS reminds residents that working smoke alarms and having a fire extinguisher readily available can make a critical difference during a fire.

At 8:23 AM on Thursday, August 20th, Central Fire & EMS was dispatched to a report of a house fire near an AC unit in the Township of Colby.

Upon arrival, crews found black smoke and flames coming from a window. Firefighters worked quickly to knock down the fire, preventing it from spreading throughout the home. Crews then conducted a complete overhaul of the scene to locate and extinguish any remaining hot spots.

Thankfully, all occupants and pets were able to safely evacuate the home, and no injuries were reported at the time of the incident.

This past Wednesday, our members participated in a live burn training.

Training like this provides valuable hands-on experience for both our Fire and EMS personnel, allowing us to work through realistic emergency scenarios, strengthen teamwork, and stay prepared to serve our community safely and effectively.

Yesterday, members participated in the Run for Jamison Race, and today we enjoyed being part of the parade. We always look forward to these events year after year.

**Colby Cheese Days Parade Parking Restrictions**
No Parking 11am to 2pm on Sunday, July 19 on the following streets.
No parking——>
*2nd St from the high school all the way to W Broadway St
*W Dolf St from N 2nd St to N 4th St
*W Adams St from Sth 13 to N 7th St

If you are parked in these locations on parade day, your car may be towed at the owners expense. Please help us out by having your car out of these areas before 11am on Sunday.
