We were so excited to partner up with Henry County Alabama 4-H and Headland Elementary School and sponsor this project. The shed will provide a safe, weather-protected place to store garden tools, buckets, gloves, and all the other supplies needed to keep this garden growing and thriving. 🌱❤️
We love 4H and our students

🌱🐄 What a Great Day at the Wiregrass Area Classic! 🐄🌱

We were excited to welcome FFA students from all over Alabama for the Wiregrass Area Classic at the Wiregrass Research & Extension Center! This was a fantastic opportunity for students to get out in the field, put their agricultural knowledge to work, and gain valuable hands-on experience in soil science and conservation. We had 10 teams .

1st place was Brantley FFA
2nd place was Dale county FFA
3rd place was Isabella High School
4th place was G W Long FFA

Throughout the event, students evaluated real-world field sites and worked through areas including soil texture and structure, slope and erosion, land capability classes, and conservation planning.
They also had the opportunity to learn from guest speakers and professionals in the field. 🌾👩‍🌾👨‍🌾
Events like this are so important because they allow our FFA students to connect what they learn in the classroom with the real challenges and opportunities they will encounter in agriculture and natural resource careers.
A huge thank you to all of the FFA students, teachers, volunteers, Josh Jones , Auburn University, NRCS and everyone who helped make the Wiregrass Area Classic such a success!
Soil and Water was so happy to sponsor and be apart of such a great event in our County .

💚 Investing in our students today means investing in the future of agriculture and conservation tomorrow!

We had such a great day

Last week we had our annual Field Day here at the station. It was a wonderful day, depsite the heat, and we wanted to take some time to thank our sponsors! We have so many wonderful sponsors in our area, but we had one sponsor that stepped up in a big way and provided the funds for the majority of the cost for our lunch. When you are feeding as many farmers and producers as we do our Field Day's it can get expensive. We served our typical fried catfish, french fries, hushpuppies, slaw, and blueberry delight, and the generous list of vendors below covered the cost of that lunch. We would especially like to thank the people at Alabama One for their generous donation.

🌾🚜 Whether you're purchasing farmland, financing equipment, expanding a poultry operation, or investing in timberland, Alabama ONE's Land & Agriculture team is here to help. With competitive rates, flexible terms, local decision-making, and personalized service, we're committed to supporting Alabama's farmers, ranchers, and rural communities every step of the way. 🌱🐄Learn more about financing solutions designed for your land, livestock, equipment, and agribusiness needs: https://ag.alabamaone.org/

*Not pictured below, but we would also like to thank the people of Sunsouth Abbeville and Alabama Ag Credit for their support as well!
