52 Suspects to Appear at Masaka Magistrates Court Today.

This morning at Masaka Magistrates Court at 10am, we shall apply for bail for 52 suspects who have been detained at Masaka Police Station since the onset of protests against the arrest of Hon. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu.

The 52 that include Hon. Namayanja Florence (Candidate for Mayor Masaka City), Juliet Kakande (Candidate for Woman MP Masaka City) Abed Bwanika (Candidate for MP Kimaanya-Kabonera) and Kanyike Ronald Candidate for MP Bukoto East) were arrested allegedly for violating the Covid Guidelines.

We spent the whole of yesterday at Masaka CPS trying to secure their release on police bond but the RPC and DPC refused to release them on police bond reasoning that their files had already been sanctioned.
