UETCL has handed over the site to the contractor, marking the start of preliminary works for the 400kV Karuma–Tororo High Voltage Transmission Line.

Spanning 15 districts, this critical project will strengthen grid reliability, improve power availability and support homes, schools, hospitals and industries.

UETCL has also begun stakeholder engagements with Kiryandongo District leaders to foster collaboration throughout implementation.

We are committed to delivering this project safely, efficiently and in partnership with the communities we serve.

Presentations are underway at the 2nd UETCL– Makerere University CEDAT Post Research Innovation Challenge, where final-year students are showcasing innovative solutions to real electricity transmission challenges.

The teams are pitching their ideas, defending their technical approaches, and engaging with a panel of judges as they put their creativity, knowledge, and problem-solving skills to the test.
