STATEMENT ON THE FALSE AND MISLEADING PUBLICATION BY SPYREPORTS REGARDING EXODUS SACCO

Our attention has been drawn to a misleading article published by SpyReports under the alarming headline: "Police Exodus SACCO Corruption Scandals Deepen as IGP Fires 30 Officers, Orders Fresh External Audit."

We categorically state that the claims contained in the publication are false, misleading, and entirely without factual basis.

The article alleges that affected staff demanded hefty bribes from SACCO members to facilitate the processing of loans. This allegation is false and malicious. The acquisition of a loan from Exodus SACCO follows a well-established and transparent process governed by the SACCO's policies and procedures. At no stage is bribery required or tolerated.

For the record, Exodus SACCO employs its staff on renewable two-year contracts. Following the expiry of some staff contracts, the Management Board, as part of ongoing institutional reforms aimed at strengthening operational efficiency, resolved to re-advertise all staff positions through a competitive recruitment process.

An independent Human Resource firm was competitively procured to manage the recruitment exercise. Applications were invited from all suitably qualified candidates, and only those who met the required qualifications and standards were retained. Those who did not meet the criteria were not re-engaged. This process was concluded professionally and transparently.

It is therefore completely false for SpyReports to allege that the Inspector General of Police dismissed employees of Exodus SACCO. The staffing changes resulted solely from the SACCO's internal human resource processes and had nothing to do with disciplinary action, corruption investigations, or directives from the Inspector General of Police.

We wish to reassure all Exodus SACCO members that their savings remain safe and secure. The SACCO continues to operate normally, and all services remain available. There is no corruption, embezzlement, or financial crisis within the institution as alleged by the publication.

Members are therefore urged not to be alarmed or misled by this malicious story, whose apparent intention is to create unnecessary panic, undermine confidence in the SACCO, and tarnish its reputation.

Unfortunately, the publication reflects a pattern of irresponsible reporting that relies on unverified allegations and biased sources rather than factual investigation. Professional journalism demands fairness, accuracy, and verification before publication. We encourage SpyReports to uphold these fundamental principles and emulate responsible media houses that prioritize credible research and balanced reporting.

Given the seriousness of these false allegations and the potential damage they pose to the reputation of Exodus SACCO, as well as the unnecessary anxiety they may cause among its members, we demand the immediate withdrawal of the defamatory publication and the publication of an appropriate correction.

POLICE EXODUS SACCO EMPOWERS THE 25TH POLICE INTAKE AT UGANDA POLICE TRAINING SCHOOL KABALYE ON FINANCIAL DISCIPLINE, SAVINGS, AND INVESTMENT

Police Exodus SACCO today continued its commitment to promoting financial literacy and economic empowerment among members of the Uganda Police Force through an interactive financial education session conducted for recruits of the 25th Police Intake at Uganda Police Training School, Kabalye.

The session was facilitated by a team from Police Exodus SACCO, which engaged the recruits on the importance of cooperative societies, financial discipline, savings culture, wealth creation, and long-term investment planning. The training forms part of the SACCO’s broader strategy to nurture financially responsible officers from the very beginning of their careers.

Addressing the recruits, the SACCO team emphasized that financial success is not determined by the amount of income one earns but by how effectively one manages, saves, and invests that income. The recruits were encouraged to adopt prudent financial habits early in their service, avoid unnecessary debts, and establish clear financial goals that will guide them throughout their careers.

The team explained the role of cooperative societies in transforming the lives of members through collective savings and affordable access to credit. Recruits were informed that cooperatives are founded on principles of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, and solidarity, making them powerful tools for economic empowerment and financial inclusion.

The recruits were further sensitized on the importance of regular saving. They were encouraged to view savings not merely as setting aside money but as an investment in their future security and prosperity. Through consistent saving, officers can build financial resilience, prepare for emergencies, finance personal development projects, and secure their families against unforeseen circumstances.
