🌾 A Harvest of Hope! 🌾
The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU), alongside CNOOC, TotalEnergies EP Uganda, UNOC, and partners, recently marked a successful Crop Harvest Ceremony recently , celebrating the power of integrating agriculture with oil and gas development.
🌱 Key Highlights of the Livelihood Restoration Programme:
394 farmers are now registered, with 86 participants in the initial phase.
Inclusivity matters: 4 Project-Affected Persons for every 1 community member.
New crop varieties like WDRC–3 rice and foxtail millet are now ready for commercial cultivation.
Rice yields: The new WDR–73 variety is producing 3.5–4.0 tons per hectare, and flood irrigation adds an extra 500 kg per acre.
Through collaboration with industry partners and government bodies, the Livelihood Restoration Programme continues to build social and economic resilience, empowering both Project-Affected Persons and the wider community.
