🇺🇦 Ukraine’s Independence Day is more than just a date.

It is a story written by generations of Ukrainians — a story we continue to write today.

Freedom is what Ukrainians fight, pray, and sacrifice for every single day.

Even in the hardest times, we see something powerful: our people choosing courage over fear, love over hatred, and hope over despair.

Today, we remember those who have paid the highest price for freedom, and we pray for those who continue to defend it.

We continue to believe that darkness does not get the final word!

One of the greatest blessings is seeing God’s love grow and multiply through the people who have been part of SMU projects. ❤️

Yesterday, they came to our events as participants. Today, they come back as volunteers — serving others, and working hard.

Love received becomes love shared. And we are so grateful to witness it. 🙏

For children growing up during wartime, having a space to connect, communicate, and feel supported is incredibly important.

Our Zhytomyr Community Center has become exactly that kind of place.

Through regular meetings and activities, children come together to talk, play, create, make friends, and simply enjoy being together.

Whenever children in the village see the white SMU van, they come running to greet our team with big smiles.

SMU continues to serve children from crisis families through camps, regular activities, and humanitarian aid. We’re especially grateful that many of the clothes and children’s items we share have been donated by local people.

Thank you for helping us care for these families and reminding them they are loved. ❤️

At SMU camps, young people still laugh, play games, worship, and build friendships. But alongside those moments, they are learning skills no child or teenager should ever need - how to provide first aid, escape from under rubble, and respond in life-threatening situations.

Please pray that God will protect this generation, strengthen their faith, and give them courage to live with hope, even in the midst of war.
