The State Gemmological Centre of Ukraine (SGCU) has a new director .

ANDRII KYSIL was appointed to the post of Director of the State Gemmological Centre of Ukraine by order of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine from 26.06.2018 №218-0.
Andrii Kysil graduated from two higher educational institutions, namely the National Technical University of Ukraine (KPI) and the National Economic University of Ukraine and received the qualifications of Metallurgical Engineer and Master of Civil Service respectively.
We wish the new Director good luck and every success in performing the duties of this responsible position.

The Federation of European Education in Gemmology (FEEG) has officially launched a brand new website in the lead up to its 18th FEEG International Symposium of Gemmology, as part of the Gem-A Conference 2015.

"Grading and examination of decorative stones " Course dates are:
16th of November,2015 ---- to ---- 20th November, 2015.

The training course provides specialization in grading and examination of raw and processed rocks being used for architectural and building purposes for production of wares of exterior and interior decoration, monumental art, elements of landscape architecture, road-street building etc; determination of quality and technological level of decorative stones processing.
Duration of training - 1 week.

At the end of the Program, if completed successfully, a Ministry of Finance SGCU Certificate is issued.

Is due to start on the 7th of December , 2015 and concludes on the
11th of December, 2015.

The training course provides specialization in grading and examination of semiprecious gemstones; specifying of ecological safety and conditions of usage of the gemstones; determination of varieties of gem corals, ivory, nacre, other organic gem materials and their imitations as well as imitations of gemstones.
Duration of training - 1 week.

Identification , Grading and Certification of organic gemstones is presented and taught by Ministry of Finance accredited instructors.
The training course provides specialization in grading and examination of natural and cultured, sea and river water, treated pearls, imitations of pearls as well as treated and reconstructed amber, methods of its reconstruction.
Duration of training - 1 week
